Best Cafes in Bali
I spent 11 days in Bali with 3 of my closest friends, exploring the ins and outs of Seminyak, Ubud, Canggu & Uluwatu. Of course being the foodie I am, I had to visit as many cafes as possible. Here are my thoughts on the ones we went to and hopefully this helps you when travelling through Bali.
The Loft
The Loft is a beautiful, high ceiling cafe in Canggu with similar vibes to Kynd Community. They have a decent sized menu, accommodating vegans too. We ordered the Vegan brekky and 2 lots of poached eggs on toast with avocado and halloumi. My Vegan Brekky was so delicious. The variety on the plate was the perfect combination and was also super filling. The only aspect of the dish I didn’t like was the tofu scramble – it had a very strong turmeric taste and I couldn’t taste any other spices or salt. We also ordered iced mochas which were so good! If you’re staying in Canggu The Loft is a must! We stayed in Seminyak and it took about 20 minutes by scooter to get there.
Sea Circus
Sea Circus is a bright, tropical, colourful café in Seminyak. The outside wall is painted full of different, colourful pictures making it very inviting. They have a smaller menu but still plenty of sweet and savoury options for both vegans and non-vegans. We ordered the avo smash on sourdough with potato rostis, poached eggs with potato rostis and ricotta pancakes. We also ordered iced mochas which had become a regular thing as the week went on! The food was absolutely delicious. We were all a big fan of the potato rostis! Would definitely recommend this café for something more simple but still amazing!
Cafe Organic
Cafe Organic is so beautiful, filled with a range of plants giving it fresh and relaxing vibes. The beachy interiors were gorgeous and the staff were so lovely. A huge menu accommodating vegans and non-vegans, there is sure to be something on there you’ll like! We ordered 3 acai bowls, the pesto & pumpkin on toast, the avocado & eggs on toast & some coffees. The acai bowls were aesthetically pleasing with delicious toppings, however were slightly on the small side. My pesto & pumpkin on toast was absolutely delicious, with vegan cream cheese and seeds to top it off – would definitely order this again!
Kynd Community
Kynd Community is a 100% plant-based cafe with a beautiful indoor and outdoor seating area; pink walls, plants and a swinging chair. The menu ranges from: smoothie bowls, breakfast burgers, avo on toast and waffles. The options are endless so whatever you feel like for breakfast its most likely on the menu. We all ordered similar dishes consisting of sourdough toast, avocado, pumpkin, pesto, mushrooms and hash browns and of course coffees, including iced mochas on coconut milk. The breakfast combinations were delicious and super filling. We also tried the chewy choc chip cookies which were absolutely delicious!
Bukit Cafe
Bukit Cafe is a rustic, jungle inspired cafe with gorgeous wooden furniture and plants. The menu included options for both vegans and non-vegans and the staff were very accommodating when it came to meal alterations. We ordered 3 breakfast burritos – one normal with scrambled eggs and bacon, one with no bacon and one with no bacon and eggs and replaced with mushrooms (mine), avo & haloumi on toast, pancakes and of course coffees. The breakfast burrito was absolutely delicious and filling with an avocado, tomato salsa and sweet potato to top it off. Overall the cafe was so lovely and relaxing and would be the perfect place to take a book and read or your laptop to do some work!
Coffee Cartel
Coffee Cartel is a modern, spacious, 2 story cafe with mosaic tiled floors and a pink, cactus wall. One thing I loved about the menu was that they included the tax and service charges in the prices unlike most cafes we went to where they add it on at the end! They have a huge menu including both vegan and non-vegan options, from sweet to savoury and all the possible ‘side’ options you can think of! We ordered 2 lots of poached eggs on toast with roast pumpkin, halloumi and avo and I got the avo smash on toast with a side of mushrooms, pumpkin and sweet potato hash. We also ordered some coffee with coffee ripple art which I’ve never seen anywhere else! You can literally get anything printed on top of your coffee, you just tell the staff what you’d like! I got “Rhi in Bali” and Hannah got “Bali Vibes”. We loved the aesthetics and vibes of this cafe. Definitely recommend!
Peloton Shop
Peloton Shop is an all vegan café also situated in Canggu and has quite a different vibe to all the other cafes we had been to. It has a relaxed, semi-retro interior with bicycles pinned to the wall and a wooden upstairs area. With a range of bowls, wraps, salads, burgers, Mexican options and even ‘fake chicken’ there is sure to be something you’re craving! They also have a small separate menu in collaboration with Elsa’s Wholesome Life. We ordered a chocolate frappe, a banana smoothie and a veggie burger with sweet potato chips to share which was all so delicious. I would love to come back here to try one of the loaded salad bowls.
Shelter Cafe
Shelter Cafe is a very open, airy cafe with an abundance of plants, a bamboo roof and wooden furniture. Nalu Bowls is also a part of this cafe, so if you just feel like a takeaway smoothie bowl you can grab one from their smoothie bar downstairs! This cafe has a huge menu, perfect for anyone. One thing I love about the menu is they have a “Design your own breakfast” section where you can get toast with eggs and add any sides and sauces you’d like! We ordered a peanut butter, banana nice cream bowl and a designed breakfast with toast, hash browns, mushrooms, sweet potato and avocado. Both were super delicious and filling. I’d love to come back here to try out the vegan waffles! (Unfortunately I didn’t get any photos at this cafe!)
